Our corporate philosophy embraces a commitment to improving the quality of life in the community. In each of our locations, we play a vital role, as both a major employer and significant contributor to local charities.
Our properties provide ongoing employment and increased job growth within the community. We take an active role in extending opportunities to women and minorities through our support of various organizations, including MBE (Minority-owned Business Enterprises) and WBE (Women-owned Business Enterprises).
The Company pays significant taxes in the communities in which it operates. During 2009, Pinnacle paid or accrued $266 million in gaming taxes, $23.0 million in payroll taxes, $18.8 million in property taxes, and $8.3 million in sales taxes.
We also contribute to local charities and lend our support, facilities and staff to community-based charity events, ranging from festivals to fundraisers.
