Program Design
WHAT IS IT
The Executive Development Program (EDP) is a nine-month practical work experience program designed to prepare recent college graduates for leadership positions within Pinnacle Entertainment. Our EDP Associates add immediate value to Pinnacle Entertainment by performing in one of our key business departments: Hotel, Food & Beverage, Casino, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Information Technologies (I.T.) and Facilities departments. Every EDP Associate will be exposed to a variety of operational areas and disciplines, and they will perform a combination of line-level and supervisory tasks. In addition, each EDP Associate will have the opportunity to rotate to another Pinnacle property during the nine-month program, which will given an opportunity for each Associate to learn from various experts, develop core management skills, learn about the Pinnacle Entertainment brand and build key relationships.
WHAT IT DOES
Our EDP provides nine months in which to observe the behaviors of the Associates through opportunities and experiences within Pinnacle. This gives the company time to help them develop personally and professionally with the ability to take into consideration their competencies, needs for various job exposures, challenges, and organizational knowledge. Routine assessments will be completed by the department Directors to give both the Program Manager and Associate feedback on areas of opportunity and challenge that the Associate can focus on as the program progresses.
This time also gives an EDP Associate the opportunity to evaluate Pinnacle. Are we a company committed to the Associate’s success? Are we a company that has invested the time and energy to meet the needs of the Associate? Pinnacle has structured this program in order to prepare the Associates for the opportunity to accept a full-time leadership positions at one of our properties. That preparation lies in learning and developing management skills in planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling. But, it also rests on each Associate to take advantage of opportunities to learn new tasks and also build networks and relationships with those on property.
